  • Bishop Aaron and Stephanie Powers - Senior Pastors

    Rev. Aaron Powers is a sharecropper’s grandson and the son of bi-vocational evangelists who subsidized their ministry as mill workers. Bro. Powers received salvation at four years old and the baptism of the Holy Ghost at eight. He began full time pulpit ministry at sixteen years old after traveling with his parents playing the piano and singing for their revivals for many years. He is a graduate of Pfeiffer University with a BA in Youth Ministry and holds an MDiv in Theological Studies from Pentecostal Theological Seminary in Cleveland, TN. 

    Bro. Powers now shares the Gospel with many thousands in world missions as he raises his own budget through preaching revivals and special services with nearly 90,000 souls saved and many healed and filled by the power of God. Bro. Powers is an Ordained Bishop with the Church of God, Cleveland, TN. 

    He is also a certified Prayer Trainer for Alive Ministries under the leadership of the Church of God International Prayer Coordinator, Rev. Doug Small. In addition, Pastor Powers serves the Western NC Church of God on the World Missions Board, Church of God World Missions Pakistan as a fundraiser for church planting, and formerly served as host and on-air personality for Total Christian Television and currently serves as on-air personality for Global Television Network monthly on the live program, "The Pastor's Study".

    Sis. Powers has a great heritage of ministry as third generation Church of God. Her father, Rev. Phillip King is currently a pastor in WNC COG and her grandfather, Rev. Horace King, served as a pastor in WNC for many years. Sis. Stephanie has a direction connection to BCC. Her uncle and aunt, Lynn and Doris Porter, were pastors at BCC when it was still Mebane Church of God years ago. Lynn has since passed away, but Doris, now Doris Wooten, loves the BCC family and will be visiting often! 

    Sis. Powers is a graduate of Lee University with a BS in Accounting. She is a talented solo vocalist as well as choir member/praise team member. Sis. Powers is very proud to be a full-time mom and full-time accountant for Turner Business Appraisers.  She is currently in the process of taking her CPA exams.

    Bro. Powers, along with Sis. Stephanie and their three boys Ben, Alex, and Zeke, bring to BCC over 25 years of ministry experience in World Missions, Local Missions, Evangelism, Youth Ministry, Christian Education, music ministry, and Pastoral Ministry. They are dedicated to ministry which flows in the power of the anointing of the Holy Ghost with signs following.

  • Sis. Sheila Allen - Director of Shalom Food Pantry

    From Durham, NC, Sheila experienced the saving grace of Jesus Christ at Breakthrough in 2007.  Under her direction and leadership, the Breakthrough Food Pantry has helped to feed thousands since its inception in 2012.  Sis. Sheila is ALWAYS

  • Sis. Regina Allen - Director of Finance

    Regina was born and raised in Baltimore, MD and moved to NC in 1983. 

    In 1987, she married her husband, Joe Allen, in Statesville, NC.

    A graduate of St. Mary's College of Maryland with a Bachelor's of Science in Business and Economics, Regina has been serving as Breakthrough's Director of Finance since 2017.

    Our Prayer Coordinator position is currently open and Rev. Powers will be filling the position temporarily.  We are awaiting the will of God in this situation.

  • ashley mahan - music minister

    Sister Ashley has lived in Mebane for 30 years. She is married to Chris Mahan, Youth Director with Breakthrough Community Church. She and her husband have two children, Gabriel and Lucas. She has served in the community for many years, with experience in the musical background since age 12. She came to Breakthrough Community Church of God in 2014, after growing up in the Church of God of Prophecy, where she was a member all her life. She served on the Church Praise Team, and was in many different Easter and Christmas Cantatas. Aside from all of her church background, she was a Madrigal in the Eastern Alamance High School Choral Group. She served in the Alamance Community College Music & Dance Club, as the Secretary for the club, as well as, participated in many choral group functions. Since age 9, she had musical lessons for piano and had many recitals. Sister Ashley has been saved, sanctified, and filled with the Holy Spirit. She has a heart for God, and the ministry in music.

  • Sis. Darlene Heldreth - Children's Pastor

    Sis. Darlene comes to BCC after many years of service and experience working in many different capacities, but she has a real heart for the children's ministry.  She is an amazingly dedicated, first class servant of God for our Children's Church and ministry.  Her three children, Leah, Brayden and Blaine are all amazing volunteers and help her tremendously. We are fortunate to have her and her family!

  • Women's Ministry

    Sis. Stephanie Powers will be serving as our interim President, along with Sis. Regina Allen (treasurer) and the Women's Board, are serving God by serving one another!  AND... our Ladies Bible Study will resume ASAP!

  • Men's Ministry

    Men's Ministry President and Vice President offices open until elections.  Bro. Chris Mahan is serving as the President and interim secretary/treasurer.  All positions are eligible to return as President of the ministry for two more years as we are re-launching our Men's Ministry program!  This information is subject to change.

  • BCC Church and Pastor's Council

    Church and Pastor's Council members:  Sis. Judy Simmons, Bro. Larry Wiley,  Bro. Chris Mahan.  Bro.  Larry Newcomb and Bro. Andy Lowers serve as alternates.
